Dear Dr. Vengamma,

That the Neurophysiology Sub Section is holding its Annual Meeting at SVIMS should be a great honour to all of us.

Functioning of Neurophysiology is changing everyday. We are well into an era where neurophysiology is set as a pro- active instrument for diagnosis and therapy.

DBS and resting cortical recording are examples of such change. Even now Electrodes/ stimulators placed intracranial in the brain act as recording instruments, carry with them the power to generate a change to negate spike and seizure arising from an epileptic focus.

We already have spinal cord stimulation which make Paraplegics walk. Magnetic stimulators are being used in establishing the continuity of spinal cord and nerve group elements. This is not to mention the use of magnetic stimulators in psychiatric dysfunction.

I hope some of these will get addressed in the forthcoming neurophysiology meetings. These together with assessment of small fiber neuropathies will give a chance for the attendees to appreciate the variety one witnesses in the neurophysiological spectra. This should be in addition to the narration of usual electrical assessment of the peripheral nervous system.

Evoked potentials of all kinds claim their own importance and I hope these will be paid attention too. I wish you very best for the successful completion of this forthcoming meeting, I am sure the audience and the organisation will stand to enormous benefits by this get together.

Prof. Zaheer Ahmed Sayeed - Chairperson

Neurophysiology Sub-Section, Indian Academy of Neurology.

Dear Colleagues,

We have great pleasure in inviting you to the Conference on Clinical Neurophysiology being held from 09 - 11 September, 2022 at Sri Venkateswara Institute of Medical Sciences (SVIMS), Tirupati, Andhra Pradesh, India.

Alleviating human suffering has been part of dedicated services of Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD) to the mankind. SVIMS, the jewel in the crown of the TTD was conceived in 1986 (on the lines of the then only AIIMS, New Delhi) and started functioning from 26 February, 1993. SVIMS was upgraded in 1995 to the level of university by an act of AP State Legislature.

The weekend conference is held under the auspices of Clinical Neurophysiology subsection of the Indian Academy of Neurology. Highlights of the program include lectures on basic to advanced Clinical Neurophysiology, Workshops on Nerve Conductions and electromyography. Noted experts in the field of Clinical Neuro-physiology would be sharing their knowledge.

It is a great opportunity for students, neurologists and neurotechnologists to interact and learn from the experts. We promise that the conference will be an academic feast and a memorable milestone in learning and sharing the knowledge.

Please mark your calendars and save the date to attend the conference in person on September 9th, 10th and 11th at SVIMS, Tirupati.
